Description

This popular community park includes an inclusive playground area with accessible swings and "Orbit"/Merry Go Round and rubberized surface area (added in 2022), hard surface courts (covered and uncovered), a mountain bike park, a water park and a youth park for skateboarding. It also encompasses the Sherry Sports Fields. The park is located next to John Barsby Community School.

A major park update project is currently underway within this park. The first phase of this plan was completed in summer 2015 with the addition of new playground equipment, a beginner Mountain Bike area, 1.2 hectares (3 acres) of parkland and utility upgrades. The lacrosse box and the covered space were built in 2017, replacing a tennis court and renewing an existing lacrosse box.

On July 6, 2020, the Youth Park (skateboard park) was officially opened to the public. The final design of the skate park features two main areas:

Street Style Plaza - complete with eight types of facilities (descending taco with roll ends, big three block gap with up ledge-bank and up gap, turnarounds with drop in banks, start sets with hubba ledges and rails, banked hips, wedge to wedges, manula pads without ledges, and long flatrails).

Kidney-shaped bowl and slappy wall with down rails.

The entire Youth Park, located on the territory of the Snuneymuxw people, features integrated public art created by First Nation artists, Bracken Hanuse Corlett and Joel Good. Brachen Hanuse Corlett recalls how as a young person the local skate park was a "refuge" for him. He designed two youth skaters who are just "learning to shred" while Joel Good designed salmon flowing through the river adjacent to the park as a way to honour the pre-industrial history of the area.
