City to relocate the log boom at Lower Colliery Dam

In an effort to improve the aesthetics of the Lower Colliery Dam reservoir by preventing the build-up of floating debris, the City of Nanaimo will be relocating a log boom away from the original outlet and towards the newer auxiliary spillway. The steps taken will allow routine floating debris to continue down through the channel as it did historically.
