Westwood Lake closed for swimming until further notice

Summary

Island Health has informed the City of Nanaimo that the E.Coli count at Westwood Lake exceeds the allowable limit and swimming is not recommended due to poor water quality. A follow-up test will occur Friday, August 10 with results expected to be received on Saturday, Aug 11.

The Hawaiian Holidaze event scheduled at Westwood Lake Friday, August 10 has been cancelled.
