Where to find information on Mayor and Councillor candidates for the election

Summary
Between September 4 and 14, 2018 the City of Nanaimo is accepting nomination packages for the positions of Mayor and Councillor. As nomination packages are filed with the Chief Election Officer, they will be posted on the City's website for public viewing and will remain on the website until thirty days after the declaration of the election results.
Before viewing the nomination documents, the viewer must confirm that they will only use the information in the packages in accordance with the the Local Government Act or the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act.
The formal declaration of candidates will take place after 4:00 pm on Friday, September 14, 2018. Candidate contact information can be found at: civicinfo.com.
Those interested in running for a seat on the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District 68 Board of Trustees are encouraged to attend an information session on the Roles and Responsibilities of Trustees on Monday, September 10 at 6:00 pm in the Boardroom at 395 Wakesiah Avenue.
