The Chief Election Officer has accepted the withdrawal of Eike Michaela Jordan as candidate for Mayor in the 2018 General Local Election. The deadline for candidates to withdraw from the election is 4:00 pm on Friday, September 21, 2018.

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, electors in the City of Nanaimo will elect one mayor and eight councillors. Two advance polls will be held in the Bowen Park Auditorium from 8 am to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 17, 2018. General Voting Day is Saturday, October 20, 2018, and there will be twelve voting locations throughout Nanaimo where eligible electors can cast their ballot.
