Update– Evacuation Lifted for Victoria Road Area

STATEMENT - Distributed August 27, 2019 6:03 PM

This afternoon, Nanaimo First Responders responded to a suspected propane leak in the 700 block of Victoria Road. As a matter of caution, residents and properties in the vicinity were evacuated.

The area has since been deemed safe and residents can return back to their home. The City thanks the neighbourhood and drivers for their cooperation. As a reminder, if at any time, a resident smells propane in and around their property, they should call 9-1-1 immediately.
