Fall GoByBike cycling into Nanaimo

Summary
The City of Nanaimo is pleased to welcome the GoByBike event back to Nanaimo for the fall season. Register today and enter to win prizes, attend events, reduce emissions and save on fuel from Oct. 16-29.
Celebration stations will be set up at various locations, hosted by many gracious sponsors during the week. Participants can plan their bike routes accordingly to stop at the stations and enter to win prizes. An updated digital cycling map will be available soon to assist with route planning.
Numerous biking events are planned during Fall GoByBike and everyone is welcome. Join the Kickoff event on Oct. 15 from 3-5 p.m. in Maffeo Sutton Park where there will be food, drinks and prizes. The celebration stations will be located as following:
- Oct. 16, 7-9 a.m. - Metral Drive at Mostar Road
- Oct. 18, 4-6 p.m. - Steve Smith Bike Park at the upper parking lot
- Oct. 20, 4-6 p.m. - Front Street across from Port Theatre
- Oct. 21, 12-4 p.m. - Vancouver Island University at Discover Fest in the quad
- Oct. 23, 4-6 p.m. - Parkway Trail at Tourism Nanaimo Centre
- Oct. 25, 4-6 p.m. - E&N at Giggleswick Place across from Brooks Landing
- Oct. 27, 4-6 p.m. - Rotary Field House
We will wrap-up with the Bicycle Film Festival, which will take place on Nov. 9 from 6-9 p.m. in VIU's Malaspina Theatre.
Registration is FREE so sign up today at www.gobybikebc.ca/nanaimo. Registered participants who submit their km's are automatically signed up for the chance to win one of many great prizes including a brand new E-bike from Pedego electric bikes. There is also an opportunity to sign up to play BikeTag, a mystery photo tag game played on bicycles where the last person standing on Oct. 29 wins.
