NEWS RELEASE - Distributed October 24, 2024 9:00 AM
Summary
The Alternative Approval Process (AAP) seeking electoral approval to borrow an amount not to exceed $90 million to finance the cost of the Public Works Yard Updates Project runs until 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2024. Eligible voters in Nanaimo who are opposed to borrowing the funds have one week left to vote against the borrowing bylaw by filling out a response form which is available at City Hall and can be printed off from the City website.
No action is required by those in favour of borrowing for the project. If opposed to the borrowing bylaw, each eligible voter is permitted to submit one response form. Completed forms must be dropped off, mailed or submitted electronically to City Hall by 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31, 2024.
For more information on the Nanaimo Operations Centre Alternative Approval Process visit the City website at www.nanaimo.ca/goto/PWY-AAP, and for more information on the project visit www.nanaimo.ca/goto/PWY-Updates.
