City of Nanaimo Seeking Volunteer for Design Advisory Panel

Summary
The City of Nanaimo is recruiting one volunteer member at-large position on the Design Advisory Panel. The panel reviews the form and character of development permit proposals for multi-family, commercial and industrial developments in relation to the City’s design guidelines. It provides independent, objective recommendations to applicants, City staff and Council to improve design matters that affect the public realm.
Successful applicants will have knowledge of urban design and design principles and possess the skills necessary to assist staff in ensuring that the form and character of future developments meet high-quality standards and the needs of the community.
The term of appointment for this position is three years, until April 2028, or as determined by Council. Members may sit on only one committee at a time and must be residents of the City of Nanaimo.
Applications can be downloaded from www.nanaimo.ca or picked up from Legislative Services at City Hall (455 Wallace Street). Completed applications must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, via:
