General Considerations

Copcan Civil LP, working on behalf of the City of Nanaimo is scheduled to begin construction in your area mid June through to approximately the end of July 2024.

Typical construction hours will be 7am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. In the work zones there will be single-lane, alternating traffic.

Construction in the roadway is expected to occur over the course of approximately 5 weeks. Lane closures and some traffic detours will be necessary during construction.

Stay Safe! Please exercise caution, obey all signage and instructions from the traffic control personnel, who are there for your safety. If you have young children, please advise them of the dangers of construction and the limited visibility of heavy equipment and trucks.

Anticipated Activities: Week starting June 17: At various locations, preparing upgrades to bus stops, preparing and installing bases for the digital speed readers (3 locations) and one new flasher (RRFB) at Cowling Pl. Week starting June 25: Pouring concrete for some of the bus stops. Preparing the sidewalk and crossing improvements at Cranberry Ave and Cowling Pl. (near Chase River School). More to come...
