Our Public Safety teams—including Police, Fire, Community Safety Officers, Bylaw Enforcement, Community Policing, Social Planning, Emergency Management and Parking Services—work together to ensure the well-being of all community members. These dedicated professionals invest significant time, resources, and energy into a variety of programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing public safety and community well-being.

Public safety is not only a Council priority; it is a key pillar of the City Plan’s goal of a Healthy Nanaimo. Whether through emergency response, crime prevention, bylaw enforcement, or community engagement, we are committed to making Nanaimo a safe and welcoming place for everyone.
