Application Support Position (TFT)

Job Summary

The City of Nanaimo is seeking a temporary full-time Applications Support position. There are three levels (Junior Applications Analyst, Applications Analyst and Senior Applications Analyst) and the position filled will be based on the successful candidates’ qualifications. Under the direction of the Manager, IT Application Services or work group supervisor, these positions develop, design, implement, and support the City’s business applications. The incumbent may focus on one or more areas of specialization, participate as a member of the development team and act in a support capacity for senior staff members.

Requirements

Applicants must have a University degree in Computer Science or directly related area of study and a minimum of 1 to 5 years’ experience. Preference will be given to applicants that meet the qualifications for the Application Sustainment specialization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a unionized position, ranging $39.36 – $51.97 per hour (Jan 2025 Rate), based on a 35-hour work week. It is anticipated that this vacancy will be up to one year in duration. Shortlisted applicants may be required to undergo a criminal record check and/or a verification of their education credentials.
