This week we enter a new season, get ready to celebrate culture and heritage and have a full week of committee meetings. Read on!
It's that time of year
Pothole season! Have you come across a pothole on your commute? You can report it to the City or, if it's on a Provincial highway, to the Province's road maintenance contractor, Mainroad.
How do you know if you are on a road maintained by the City or the Province? If you are travelling on the following routes and come across a pothole, report it to Mainroad at 1-877-215-6006:
- Old Island Highway (Island Highway 19A)
- Nanaimo Parkway (Highway 19)
- Brechin Road
- Stewart Road
- Highway 1
For all other roads within City of Nanaimo limits, report them on the City website, on the Nanaimo Recycles app (use the "Need Help/Report a Problem" feature) or call public works at 250-758-5222.

This year the following community members will be honoured:
- Trish & Geoff Horrocks, Honour in Culture
- Patrick Aleck, Emerging Cultural Leader
- Gary & Adam Manson, Honour in Heritage
- Devon Joiner, Excellence in Culture
The ceremony will be held in the Port Theatre at 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30 pm). Get your tickets on the Port Theatre's website. Did we mention the tickets for this fun community event are free?
