Alert: Winter Storm and Road Advisory Update

The following alert was issued through the City of Nanaimo's Voyent Alert! system.

"City of Nanaimo continues to work on clearing the roads. Priority 1 routes (Emergency routes and all major roads) have been cleared and City crews are now working on Priority 2 (secondary roads) and Priority 3 (Residential culs-de-sac and dead ends) routes. To allow our plows and crews to work safely, we ask residents to continue to avoid non-essential travel.  You can monitor the City of Nanaimo website at www.nanaimo.ca, @cityofnanaimo on Facebook and Twitter for updated information.

Garbage and recycling collection for January 6, 2022 has been cancelled. For more information visitwww.nanaimo.ca/goto/GarbageCalendar. Recreation facilities will remain closed for today and the City will assess conditions Friday morning and advise via regular communication channels. Thank you to City of Nanaimo residents for your support and patience throughout this winter storm event."
