Update on windstorm clean up in Nanaimo's parks

Thank you for your patience as City staff continue to inspect and address safety concerns in Nanaimo parks following Tuesday’s weather event. Crews are inspecting and opening parks as quickly as possible, however not all parks have been inspected. Priority locations have included destination parks, heavily treed parks, playgrounds, sport courts, trails and walking routes to schools.

Please use caution in treed areas and respect closed gates, trail closure signage and all areas marked with caution tape. The public is encouraged to report downed trees and areas of concern with location specifics and details to 250-756-5200 or parkopsdispatch@nanaimo.ca.

Please also use caution as another storm front moves in and conditions may change.
