Printing Recommendations

Here are some recommendations for when you are required to print documents or other assets provided by the City of Nanaimo. Remember, you can always request or sign up to receive your tax notices, utility bills, business licences, dog licences, building permits, and almost all city-related records in a digital format to avoid printing it.

  1. Print in black and white or greyscale.
  2. Print in "draft" or "economy" mode.
  3. Print with low resolution image options enabled on your printer.
  4. Print multiple pages per paper sheet.
  5. Check the energy rating on a printer before you buy it.
  6. Print duplex (both sides).

As different makes and models of printers may vary in how they implement or even name these features, please consult your printer's manual for specific instructions on how to enable any of these features. If you have any questions, please reach out to the printer manufacturer as they are the expert on your specific printer!
